It’s the most wonderful time of the year …. no, not Christmas! It’s when the Pantone Color of the Year is announced! Or maybe that’s only true if you’re a wedding or fashion blogger. I gotta say I’m stoked with the Pantone 2014 Color of the Year – Orchid. As you can see, Pixie Dust Bride loves all things pink and purple. Does that mean we are ahead of the trend?!? I really loved our wedding colors but if I had to do it all over again, I think I would incorporate this soft shade of purple. Are any of you showcasing Orchid in your 2014 wedding?
It’s the holidays and there is gold and sparkle everywhere! It inspired me to make this gold wedding inspiration board. I love all things gold and shiny, so this was a lot of fun. We had the same gold Chiavari chairs for our wedding! I would have loved to offer our guests those gold macarons, too. And the gold sparkle dress is perfect to change into for the reception or even an elopement or casual wedding dress.
Top row: Gold bridesmaids gowns from weddingsillustrated.net
Middle row: Gold bouquet from Accents and Petals; Gold rose cake from Rachelles; Gold sparkle dress by Alice and Oliva from Teen Vogue
Bottom row: Gold macarons from Diary of a Mad Haus Frau, Gold Chiavari chair from CJs Off the Square; Gold embellished stationery from Clover Creek; Gold tablescape from Elizabeth Anne Designs
This style board for the Thankful Bride and Bridesmaid was obviously inspired by the colors of fall and Thanksgiving. I used a “pumpkin pie” orange as a base color with brown and yellow as accent colors. I love the orange bridesmaid dress with the brown booties but the orange pumps would work, too! And the pretty yellow accessories would look great on either the bride or bridesmaid; same with the amber necklace.
Pixie Dust Bride wishes you and your loved ones a Happy Thanksgiving! Take a day to count your many blessings and enjoy the world around you. See you next week!
